1 Kiwi's occasional blips

By bcaway

bubbly bottom

This is the underside of the famous "north west arch" in New Zealand which appeared all day today. For about 20 minutes the bottom of the cloud became bubbly (correct term: Mammatus clouds - which are pouch-like cloud structures and a rare example of clouds in sinking air.)

Anyhow I was away from the house and quickly called my wife to use my camera and take some photos (lucky I had my 24mm lens on and the camera was set to cloudy and to take 2 exposures at a time.) as I had just taken some of the same cloud earlier.

So this is the photo She took!
