Hot Stuff

Last October we changed over from oil central heating to wood pellets - these are from the latest delivery of 100 10 Kg bags which were delivered on a pallet on Friday and which we carried to the shed this morning. Although much used in Scandinavia, Germany , Austria and Italy, the technology is comparatively new here but we have been much impressed with the system during one of the coldest spells on record in Argyll and are mindful of the fact that we would not have been able to get oil delivered at all from the end of November to the middle of January. However we could carry the pellet bags up a few at a time from the end of our track. Now, however, with the track passable again (snow and ice melted and the mud ruts subsided or smoothed thanks to John and his digger) it is a lot more convenient to get a complete load straight to the back door. The only problem that remains is the surfeit of plastic wrapping - we need a green solution for that.
