The UK rail system is a complete joke, billions of pounds spent on new rolling stock and the most bikes any train can carry is 5. You must book ahead to take a bike and you must reserve a seat, you can't reserve a seat more than 12 weeks before you travel. If you travel on more than one train company you have to book each sector individually if you want to take a bike, you can't book bikes on line with some companies, etc, etc.
So "up yours" Mr Railwayman, these folders go into a bag and become luggage. Was the only way we could plan a holiday in the Inner Hebrides and remain sane.
We are off to try them out tomorrow if the weather forecast comes true.
