Crystal colours

What a night last night 30 thousand people descended on Liverpool, and we were stuck in the middle. There were huge screens so you could see what was going on. Fireworks went off for the opening, but didn't really amount to much, I've seen better in my garden.

There were aerial acrobats suspended from huge cranes doing their stuff, and bands who were playing on the roof tops, Ringo Star came on to sing, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The crowd began to disperse after the show finsihed piccys here and here.

We'd gone by train and the queue to get into the Station was huge, the police wouldn't let people in and had closed the gates for safety and were only letting a few in at a time. We had something to eat and walked down town to the next Station, it was the same story here, but to get underground to this platform there were only two lifts so the queue just wasn't moving.

With visions of being stranded in Liverpool we walked back up town where there was a bit of a riot going on with youngsters, the next thing we knew, police bikes, riot buses and police on horseback descended on the town centre and got out to sort the trouble out. A policeman came up to Mike and I, and said "Come on get yourselves home" as if we looked like rioters. (we must have done)haha

Finally got the train about half ten which was packed. Arrived home at quarter to twelve.

Today has been cold and sunny. This little crystal hangs in my window and was a birthday present, the light shining on it this morning was lovely creating a beautiful rainbow effect.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far
