My Fair Lady

Remnant

The original houses in my street were shepherd's cottages - modest abodes on large treed sections. Nowadays, the same pieces of land are occupied by maybe two, sometimes up to six, town houses with pocket-handkerchief "gardens". Beneath the surface of my paved courtyard, lie the roots of plantings that no longer exist. Consequently, weeds are not necessarily weeds. This is one such example - a smidgen of green in the "wrong" place that I decided not to pull out. Today, a tall evergreen pillar which shades my deck!
