Père Lachaise Cemetery, Paris

'Twas a fairly typical Paris winter afternoon, cloudy and cold, when a friend and I visited this huge cemetery, Paris's largest (48 ha, 119 acres).

This is a rather typical view. Much of the cemetery is hilly. There are numerous paths and a map with an index to the (numbered) graves of well-known people. Altogether very fascinating.

Archived on 8 February 2011, to provide a year-earlier blip for my 365th blip tomorrow, from Marrakech. Hooray!
