White-crowned Sparrow

Five o'clock panic set in today because I had not taken any photos. This precipitated a walk around the block where I found two interesting shots. Then in the bushes, this dramatically marked fellow made his appearance. So I will save those two earlier subjects for future reference.

He is a winter visitor (we call the human species snowbirds) from way north, perhaps Alaska to Hudson's Bay, perhaps from the east Canadian tundra. National Geographic Bird Book identifies him as Zonotrichia leucophrys, but for now we will call him a "Temporary Zoni" (Arizonan).
