Fallen Tree

Wandered down the Water of Leith today. Started at Balerno and walked down to Spylaw Park. Geocaching as I went.

Not a bright, warm day. More cold and damp and dreich. But good exercise and I saw a heron and few ducks, and it was lovely hearing the song birds busting their lungs to declare spring is almost here.

This tree must have been a fair weight to do that amount of damage to the railing.

You will notice that they have leashed the stump to a rock or two. Presumably because a stump this size floating down the river and hitting the bridge support at Juniper Green would be an engineer's idea of a Bad Thing.
