Miracle Man Rodgers

Rodgers has come a long way in the past 14 months. My wife found this 8 year old abandoned in a village crawling around on all fours unable to walk or talk, living mostly on his own with a dog.
He was totally dependant on his neighbours who were also hungry and who were struggling to support their own families, so she shared a small amount of food.
His mother died shortly after his birth and his father, suffering from an addiction was unable to care for him.
Because he wasn't an orphan (technically) he couldn't be taken in to care, and being physically and mentally challenged no one was willing to take on the burden.
Now the good news:
Thanks to the Rafik Foundation, who took him from the squalor, St John of God Special School, who transport and teach him each day and to our family who sponsor him, he is blooming. She has found him a home with the amazing Beartha and a new mama Ethel (in picture) who look after his every need. He is one of the lucky ones.
Looks like he is walking without help today, he can say a few works and is the is the most cheerful little man I know.
