Well much as I hate to admit it Mr Echo was right. J wanted to go into Cockermouth and never averse to a little retail therapy I agreed to go too.
"Why don't you walk this morning and go this afternoon in case the weather changes?" suggested MR Echo who was off on one of his "proper walks" "You could do an easier version of what I am doing and we can meet up for lunch."

" Yes we could meet up for lunch but we will do the Cockermouth trip first ,then walk and meet up with you at the top of the lake."

So off we went. Had our retail therapy trip. Had lunch and off we went to walk up one side of Derwentwater. We had hardly left the car when the rain started. But we had arranged to meet Mr Echo so thought we had better keep going. In fact it was so mild that it was not too uncomfortable we were however quite relieved when we saw Mr Echo coming through the trees towards us. We decided quite quickly that we would abandon our walk and return to the car and go into Keswick for C to go and get a new pair of waterproof trousers. Mt Echo meanwhile walked back to Braithwaite. You will have gathered by now that he doesn't like shopping.
"You would have got your walk in without getting wet if you had come with me in the morning"
Yeah! Yeah!
