eggscelent present

This morning a little tap on my door indicated my landlord had dropped off my weekly supply of eggs from their chickens. They are always beautiful eggs from cream to blue to brown, occasionally with a few feathers stuck on for home-laid effect. Today the batch arrived with a card and birthday ribbon just in time for Sunday poached eggs on toast - perfect wet and windy weekend brunch.

Now I just need to learn to make hollandaise sauce - eggs benedict is my favourite!
