gypsum

Second day in the Lakes and the rural idyll was marred by a touch of persistent drizzle... which, in turn, brought on a touch of persistent whingeing from the young sir. His response to the countryside seems to have been modelled on this.

I, in the meantime, was getting a bit twitchy for urban decay. This pastoral, bumpy loveliness is all well and good but in the rain? I need something crumbling. Which brought us to the old gypsum works below Long Meg in the Eden Valley.

That's more like it.

Back blip of the sunnier Saturday experience.
