Roxy

This is my new adopted boxer, Roxy
She's between 6 and 8 years old, I think.
She was found on the side of the road in Enniscorthy, Wexford.
Unfortunately Roxy was used and abused on a puppy farm (AKA puppy mill).

The breeding dams (the mothers) often spend their whole lives in small cages pumping out litter after litter with little or no exercise, natural light or even fresh air. They are then thrown on the side of the road when they are of no use to the puppy farm owners anymore (normally around 5-6 years of age).

Fortunately, Roxy is one of the lucky ones who was not too traumatised to be adopted. She still has her little jumpy moments & is afraid of on coming traffic. Slowly but surely she's coming around. She has the most gentle soul I've ever come across in a dog and has bonded very well with my 2 & 1/2 year old male boxer, Tyson (both are neutered).

Unfortunately, due to Roxy's unknown age, she may not have many years left, but at least these last few will be happy ones filled with the love and attention she deserves.
