This is a first for me....

Out on a family ramble today we spotted this rather unusual sight!

Bizarre!

The only thing we can think - apart from someone deliberately draping it there (?) - is that the tree is next to a newly dredged out ditch and if it was done mechanically the skeleton may have been flung up into the tree by the dredging machinery.

Also not entirely sure what it is a skeleton of - badger? fox?

The pelvic bone is about the length of my index finger (approx 8cm).
