................... this is why I ALWAYS have a clear filter on my lens, I took the camera outof my small rucksack a short while agoto take D's pic of the day and he screamed at me Caroline what's happened to your lens, as I removed the cap. Luckily there isn't a scratch on the lens (which is my Nikon 17-55mm so pretty expensive!). The train was crowded this morning so I had to put the bag by my feet (there just wasn't room to hold it) so I can only assume someone accidently knocked it. Thank god for filters :)
