My City Day 122 Postcard 55

A street corner on the way home. In the background is St. James Town. It is a large collection of high rises built a long time ago when assisted housing was beginning. It has declined a lot over the years and is the home to many new immigrants in Toronto. It has a vibrant community and a school in the middle of it to serve all the children. It was to continue to be developed and if that was to have happened Cabbage Town as we know it would have been the way of the bulldozer. Thanks goodness somebody had sense to stop it. Cabbage Town is now one of the most sought after locations in the downtown core...if you can afford it.
