Waste land

Snowdrops on a patch of wasteland near our house. The place must have been cultivated once, because there are groups of trees on either side of the entry to a bridleway and private road leading into open country.

At the moment, clumps of snowdrops extend quite a way on either side as you see here.

Later on, we shall have aconites, daffodils and, wonderfully, carpets of violets in this place.
