Blinds

Almost every house in the village has these blinds over the windows and they hardly ever get lifted. Our neighbour over the road's house is no exception.

Our house had blinds like this too when we bought it, but they were old and woodwormed so they went to the tip, and we have no plans to replace them.

We're on the shady side of the street and so the summer sun won't ruin the paintwork, and if we want to shut out the heat we can close the internal shutters... But that would mean living in the dark, and although it seems to be normal around here, maybe we'll just close our shutters a bit!
