Save Our Forests. We'll fight them on the Beeches

Took this after an organised protest at Whinlatter in the Lake District. Although there has been a climb-down, the distinguished speakers warned of the continued threat of the UK Government's plans to sell England's ancient woodland. Not so much a victory parade as a show of public support for keeping this priceless asset off the table.
I thought this shot summed up the 'jagged' balls that might have to be shown by activists, should the issue of forest sales come up again.
My appreciation to Chris Bonnington, Wendy, Anna and family for a very atmospheric forest walk after the event.
The way home was nicely interrupted by a stop at the Dog & Gun in Keswick for a quick pint of 'Lakeland Gold'.
