Sunday snack lunch

Gosh, the last few days have been busy.

Out to dinner on Thursday and Friday with the workshop participants. An intensive day and half working on the former Yugoslavia - a real immersion of the brain and even the soul. Then yesterday to a 70th birthday party which was marked by a touching slide show (the joys of powerpoint, obviously fully mastered by that particular septuagenarian) and set to music, of scanned photos and other images representing the passage of his life. What worked less well was a rather ranting presentation of some of his work from a friend of the birthday boy, which came across to me as almost a Paisley type ranting sermon... Anyway, a pleasant evening overall.

This morning, we have been operating in our guise as accidental Rachman landlords, sorting out a couple of small issues for the tenants of my son's former student flat which we rent out in his/our behalf. Mr A is always better with the leccie stuff than he imagines he is, and I can wield a good cloth with mould remover. The wonder is that the tenants hadn't realised a bit of self help might have been in order. Young people today, etc. etc. In other news, I put a grammar fascist/pedant post on facebook, and managed to write "for heaven sake". A pedant commented and put me right. Good to know I am not the only one. The current object of my ire is the Scottish Government "Go Greener" campaign. It really should be "Go more greenly". I guess the PR people don't think it is as snappy and they don't belong to the grammar pedant generation.

Anyway, a snack lunch will see us through the afternoon until some pork chops emerge from the fridge and visit the oven or grill. Not sure what plans are afoot for them, but I'm sure it will be nice.

The joys of domesticity.
