The Ultimate Sporting Challenge...

So, today we had two very good friends round for an afternoon/evening of slightly competetive fun and games. They were supposed to arrive for kick off at 3pm, but missed the first half by sauntering down the drive 50 minutes late. And then we have the usual preliminaries, which included us pretending that their car was in a showroom (opening and closing doors, sliding seats fore and aft etc) and getting very excited about the secret compartment in the passenger seat...

And then the games commenced... Monopoly (Dublin style) was the first sporting challenge, which took flimming ages and was really quite cut-throat at times. Neet had to mortgage pretty much everything she owned to pay her rent, and surprise surprise the person who owned the two most expensive properties won the game (Sam). The Dublin-ness of the game threw us repeatedly, and by the end we had no idea which currency we were using.

This was followed by the quiz from yesterday's paper, several wii games and the grand finale was Bananagrams. When the final whistle blew, and the scores were tallied up, the presentation party took their positions and... <drum roll> Neet was the winner! Closely followed by Sam and yours truly in joint second, and Mrs BH a close fourth.

OK, so none of it was really sports, but it was very good fun!
