Dazed and Glazed

Little Sparrow on the ground
Was eating lunch with friends around
When Hawk dived down from far above.

Eyes look bright...but they?re not.
Glazed and shiny...truly dazed.
Restful pose...but vulnerable.

Chased by Hawk..but got away.
Escaped toward window...it was closed.
Bell was rung...but still alive.

Calmly posed...for macro lens.
Camera close...a foot away.
Not a meal...a former prey.

First a rest then fly away.
He?ll sing a song
Another day.
