Bowketts have moved

Bowketts is a well known name in this area because of the supermarket in Tenbury Wells.

A year or so ago they opened a small branch near the church in Cleobury Mortimer which went so well that they have taken on this larger shop up the road. It's opening officially tomorrow with things like taste testing going on as well as visits from the press. It will be offering fresh meat long with deli goods and food related gifts.

Inside behind the shiny new butchers counter is depicted in tiles a picture depicted in tiles of the original Bowketts shop in Tenbury Wells showing members of the original Bowketts family. The little boy in the picture is the great grand father of the current Mr. Roger Bowketts. It stood opposite where it is now, where Gallimore Estate Agents is.

The other shop keepers at the top of the High Street in Cleobury Mortimer feel very positively about this lovely shiny new Bowketts because they will attract more shoppers to this part of the street.

This shop has been a flower shop with a pet supplies corner for the last 20 years or so. Here is what it looked like before Bowketts moved in. Bowketts have not kept the old counter which is now taking up a lot of space in our garage. Know anyone who needs a long counter? They have lovely new counters.
And here is a picture of Christmas 2006.
For the last 3 years it has been Flora & Fauna.

I wish Bowketts all the best with their new shop. I'm really pleased to be able to get my meat much closer to home now.
