Why does it seem that British authority is so windy? A couple of years ago I wandered around some wind turbines on the Cotentin Peninsular in France with impunity. There was an information board and even a visitor centre (though closed at the time).
What do you get in the UK? Signs saying "Authorised Vehicles Only" and "Premises protected by Guard Dogs" and other welcoming phrases. I stayed the right side of the padlocked gate just in case.
