My husband after the earthquake

There's no words to describe the horror of what has hit Christchurch. How will the city and its people ever recover and feel safe again.

This is my husband peeling me an apple by the light of a Tilley lamp which he has kept for years for just such as emergency even with a vintage bottle of kerosene to run it.

We are among the lucky ones. Yes our house is damaged. we have no water or sewer and for 36 hours we had no power.

But we have our family and friends who as far as we know are safe, somewhere to sleep, food and water. There is nothing more needed.

It makes you realise just how much you love your family and friends, and how little possessions really matter.

To all the Christchurch blippers our thoughts are with you all.
