Too old to die young

The Hind Hotel Wellingborough

What a miserable day. Grey weather, rain and not much to photograph. Normally this corner is buzzing with people but most stayed at home today. The Hind Hotel is one of the few historic buildings in town. There are not many left as all our lovely heritage was pulled down to make way for a horrible concrete Arndale Centre. Town planners have committed crimes like that all over the country.
However the Hind is still here and should be celebrated. Built in the 16th century out of local iron stone, it boasts the room where Oliver Cromwell slept on his way to Naseby and the decisive battle of the civil war.
