FROZEN MOMENTS

Our main street is decorated by snow- and ice sculptures. The theme is the norwegian painter Edward Munch. They are rather impressive and cool all of them, but my favorite is this one. It is made by Erik Mutel (born 1973 in France).

The scupture (here under construction) is 2 meter high and with ice blocks around it. The artist uses a special emulation technique to make photographic imprints inside the blocks of ice. If I have understood it correct he takes a photo, subjects it to the ice test by freezing the image - destroying and yet preserving it, fixed the image in it's frozen liquid medium in a mix of disappearance and capture.
Quite amazing made I think! And maybe something for blippers to try??!?

Wish you all the best weekend you can have.
