Inverness Street

As a creature of habit picked up Alison from work and off to Eastgate to do the shopping. Escaped for a short while and took this shot through Eastgate Centre's floor 4 windows. This is the very end of the High Street so not 100% typical but made me think what a different experience we would have if the street was one level higher just above all the modern shop fronts. Walking along the high street we (I mean "I") dont often look up and see the architecture above us. Here you can see at street level the sort of architectural experience that the wretched Inverness planning department think modern and wonderful and above that the old-hat nonsense that our forebears had to put up with. Inverness actually has some wonderful architecture but you won't notice it if you keep your eyes at street level. The planners know best.
