Two Male Gambel's Quail

There is a female behind this pair of male Gambel's Quail. Soon they will start looking for a nesting place. Normally, I have at least 5 pair nesting in my flower pots on my patio each year. Sometimes they lay 12 to 15 eggs and most willl hatch. It is fun to watch the little ones as they hatch. (the size of a cotton ball) They jump to the ground and run. From there, the rest of their family is waiting to protect them.
