The First Cut

That saw has had a lot of use, but it's been sitting idly in the garage for a few months, waiting for the basement workshop to reopen. I re-assembled it and made a test cut yesterday. The bandsaw will be joining it soon.

C and I went to Ciao Thyme with friends Andy and Connie for a Belgian beer and food pairing dinner tonight. It was great, and Andy was surprised to find how much he liked the beer. C was the designated driver, so the rest of us drank most of her beer for her.

It's still very cold here. As I was driving home from the Y at noon, the Jetta was making strange noises when I turned sharply in either direction. It was caused by the front tires rubbing against large accumulations of ice in the wheel wells. Then, when we started driving home after dinner, C turned on the windshield washers and the fluid froze. That's never happened before. We had to stop and wait for the defroster to melt it.

The electric blanket is a wonderful invention.
