Tie a yellow ribbon....

Yesterday when I was at work, Dave had a visit from Civil Defence who were going house to house checking people were OK. Each house they checked they tied a ribbon to the letterbox.

Civil Defence have always stressed (even pre the September quake) that people need to be prepared to fend for themselves as far as food, water and minor injuries are concerned for up to seven days following a disaster.

I am extremely fortunate to live in a country where officials checked on our wellbeing four days after a major disaster of this scale. Thank you.
