Spikes

I've probably referred to Alexander "Greek" Thomson before in my journal, but as his 1857 commission of a house for James Couper who owned the Millholm paper mill is not far from where I live, I nipped up to Holmwood House after I'd squirmed in my seat watching Scotland making hard work of losing to Ireland.

I'm not sure what the proper architectural name is for these spikey things, but they appear on the apex of the roof of Holmwood.
