Birthday Bridge

Our first day of our trip to Paris - and my birthday. If you've ever wondered if Paris looks just as beautiful in the pouring rain, well I can now tell you: yes it does. The damp weather just didn't matter - we walked for miles as soon as we arrived, taking it all in. We've been before, but this time we both agreed, we "got it" properly for the first time. Wonderful.

This shot is on the Pont d'Arts, where lovers fasten engraved padlocks and then throw the key into the Seine to symbolise their devotion to each other. Yes...we did... ;-)
