Sweet shop

Stopped in Rye before setting off back west. It's an interesting old town: as one of the cinque ports that were the basis of the English navy in medieval times it still has many old buildings. A blue plaque on one of the houses proclaims that the American novelist Henry James lived there.

This sweet shop with rows and rows of jars of old-fashioned goodies was doing a roaring trade.
