I have surprised myself and others by managing to keep this going for a while now, albeit with a few pauses. I acquired the first camera partly as a consolation prize for not going to America to look after our 4 brother dogs who scare wildlife and many people away. I'm now on my third camera.

P3dro advised and encouraged me to join blip, and I'm happy I have managed to start learning how to use the camera and have indulged myself and been indulged with some lenses. I sometimes manage to take shots of birds and have become increasingly fascinated by the insects and other bugs in the vicinity. I have been interested in birds and wildlife since I was a small child. I still remember my first bird watching holiday in Littlebeck near Whitby when I was 7. I took my first photographs there with my box Brownie, usually only including humans to give an idea of scale.

We live on a farm in rural Poland which I also like to photograph. I don't have any livestock and I don't intend to be persuaded to keep any, however, we do have four dogs and about ten cats. We also have a lot of other work related to education, in particular, language education.

I'm interested in too many things and have worked in biology, chemistry, engineering, IT and mobile communications, not forgetting English teaching. D and I had a school in Poland. We lived in Finland for a few years which was very good to us in many ways.

My present consuming interest is in ceramics.
