At the moment, I live in Japan and study Japanese. Before, I was a music undergraduate. Next, I'm not sure...

Pickle was a nickname my Dad used to call me. My Mum too, I suppose? I haven't heard it used for a very long time, but I wanted to call my journal that because it reminds me of times and people far away, and still manages to give me a glow inside when I remember.

I want to live like this: part of an R.S. Thomas poem my Mum once wrote on the back of an envelope for me:

Life is not hurrying

on to a receding future, nor hankering after
an imagined past. It is the turning
aside like Moses to the miracle
of the lit bush, to a brightness
that seemed as transitory as your youth
once, but is the eternity that awaits you.

I think I'm hoping that blipfoto will help me to do this.
