Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my pictures. Thank you for your comments, and thank you for your friendship.

About comments

I like all forms of criticism and critique, so please feel free, welcome and encouraged.

I enjoy and appreciate your comments and usually comment on your work, if I have something to say. However, I try to be specific and helpful if I can, and usually do not make comments of the kind a mother might make upon seeing her kindergarten child's first "art work".

My photographic manifesto

Follow those, who are seeking the truth - and avoid those who declare they have found it!

I believe that the best camera does not take the best pictures.

I believe that it is a big and common mistake to go shopping when the situation calls for learning.

I believe that if I keep confusing shopping with learning, I will end up with more gear than talent.

I believe that talent is the talent of letting your talent out.

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.
- Anais Nin

Be critical of your own work and avoid sentimentality.
Less is more.
By doing away with explanations you make room for viewers to use their imaginations.
This is how rhythm is created.

1. What am I looking for?
= Serenity & Violence

2.What am I hearing?
= Memory & Myself

3.What am I thinking about?
= Violence & Love

4.What am not I talking about?
= Myself & Loneliness

Above all you have to discover what is important for you.
I cannot teach you what to do. I myself am still groping in the same darkness.
But the question I want to ask you is: what are you looking for?
Where are you now and where ought you to be?
This is what I want you to keep on asking yourself.
You must be constantly alert to your instinct.

Robert Frank, 1994
