Mono Monday - Entrances

As hosted by Paladian...

Today I have made a REAL effort for my blip! I actually drove down to the oldest part of the city - Bastakiya - with its old merchant houses. It has been been completely re-vamped in the last few years and made into a tourist/cultural site after being allowed to fall into ruin.

I haven't been there so long, it is the first time one of these houses has appeared on my journal! So much change there. G - not following the challenge could do whatever she wanted. Needless to say, we need to return in the cooler months and really explore and do a photo shoot. I REALLY wanted to blip the door of our Museum but it was wide open when we drove past and also, the sun wasn't in the right place... so another time.

This restaurant is new and I have only today become aware of its existence. The building clearly shows the coral stones that these houses are made off (see the bottom on the wall. Apart from the torches, ornament camel, large electric light and jars, this is a very typical entrance to a traditional home here. The coffee pot in the central courtyard added interest as did the customer sitting at the table!

Good day at the coalface as they say. Nice evening at home - Yay!
