Canadian crafting, pet loving, shutterbug living in the Netherlands with my Dutch husband since 1999.

Tried 365 projects twice in the past and never made it farther than a little over 100 days. I decided to try again this year, but with a challenge for myself - a year of self portraits. I chose to do this because I am hoping that it will help me gain confidence and self acceptance through seeing photos of myself.

In the past 2 years I have lost 140 lbs and it has been an incredible journey, but sometimes difficult in regards to self image. Sometimes I hardly recognize myself and I still have a terrible habit of picking out all of the bad things about myself in photos.

So, in short, this 365 project of self portraits, for me, is a journey of self-awareness and self-acceptance. An effort to see the good things in myself and how far I have come!

My photos are all taken with one of four cameras, depending on where I am and what I'm doing:
Sony A300 (DSLR)
Casio Exilim EX-Z1080 (P&S)
Casio Exilim EX-H15 (P&S)
Samsung Galaxy Note (Mobile)

It is very rare that I will ever post a photo straight out of the camera, as I'm using this project as a combined learning method, to learn more about Photoshop and my cameras at the same time. So yes (in case it isn't obvious) my photos are often pretty heavily edited!

If you would like to learn more about me you can find it all on my website at www.Breigh.com (Canadutch)
