Jan 2012:  For anyone who doesn't know us and has simply stumbled upon this blog, we are a "Just Retired" Scottish couple, off spending the kids inheritance.
We are backpacking (yes, at our age and state of infirmity), for 3 months, from Singapore to Beijing via Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong and China proper.
May 2012:  Now that our wee adventure is over and we have returned to the delights of home / offspring / grandchildren, I'll continue to Blip as and when I catch a decent photo and/or find a snap to illustrate a "high horse".   Won't be as interesting as SEA, but who knows what might emerge.

Feb 2016 :-  off to India for a month+.  Possibly our last long haul trip as I reach my 70th this trip, and insurance becomes more difficult / expensive. Helly welly, who the fuck cares!  I keep finding myself drawn back to a shot of cafe in Chiang Mai,  " How can you be lost if you don't care where you are.", and I think I am close to subscribing to that philosophy.
Feb 2018 - Off to  Sri Lanka and India for about 5 weeks, so still travelling.

Sept 2018 - Back to Andalucia for 10 days.  Wonderful part of Spain. Keep getting drawn back there.

Feb 2019   Going to SE Asia again, but only Vietnam, Laos & Thailand.
Not been to Laos before so looking forward to that specifically, although only there for a week.

Sept 2019 3 weeks in southern Italy.  Caio, ragazzi,

Feb Mar 2020:  India beckons once again.  1 month in Udaipur, Chennai, Hampi & Benaulim, Goa.    Got back 17th March, just in time to avoid being stuck in Mumbai, and just in time for Covid 19 Lockdown No.1.

Sept 2021   Having booked and subsequently cancelled a Portugal / Spain month, we booked a staycation in Cornwall.   However, as the wisdom of the masses evaporated and overcrowded Cornwall, and there was little sign of mask wearing, we decided to try for France.  That worked despite all the C19 bureaucracy.

Sept 2022   Resurrected the 2021 plan for Spain, Portugal, Spain, using the pricey Pompey - Santander &  Bilbao - Pompey  ferry service, we did it.   Over 3k miles in our new (to us) German chariot, over 50mpg.
Superb trip although tiring at times.

March 2023   Simple this holiday.  Off for 2 weeks to sample, once again, the gastronomic delights of Andalucía, in particular the genuine, non-tourist tapas bars..   NO driving, just Ryanair, Public busses and Shanks pony.
