I began blipping at the start of 2015; the year I took early retirement. I was for some decades a professional electrical engineer, and a daily photo journal seemed a good way to keep tabs on a post-salary life far more sedentary than I had been used to.
I was already an eager snapper. I think over the years of waking up wondering what I shall find to photograph I have become a decent enough photographer. Not expert, but competent. And I enjoy it hugely, which is kind of important, I think.
I’ve moved from Canon dSLR to Sony Mirrorless, always with the backup of an iPhone of some description. A few of my images have been used by others, which is a compliment.
If you want to know more about me, I have had a web presence since the days of dial up and hypertext scripting on notepad and now I simply let it happen using Wordpress. You can wallow in my waffle at https://rosher.net and come to your own conclusions.
I've gradually pulled away from a lot of social media, especially the bird and the gram and perhaps slowly and reluctantly the book... but I'm here, and 'there', and mostly on Mastodon, which appears to be genuinely open.
In the seven nine ten! years to the point of updating this profile I've met a few of you now, and you don't seem any more or less mad than I. At times, beer has been involved, and this is always "a good thing". I’m in South Gloucestershire, UK. If you are too, I’m at mark @ rosher.net
