Living in Sheffield, enjoying "retirement" with my other half (Richard, who will rarely appear here as he hates having his photo taken).   The rest of the family members who do appear here from time to time... Jack, my son, his partner Marianna and their daughters Frieda and Simone; Ruth, my daughter, her partner Josh and their sons Eben and Luca.  Two more who live far away but will be mentioned: Nik and Niel, Richard's two sons from his first marriage.

I left my full-time university lecturer job in Oct 2014, but continued with a part-time role until 2017.  With four young grandchildren now, all living in Sheffield too, life is enjoyably busy.

I have experimented with taking photos ever since being given a Kodak Brownie 127 as a child.  As an adult, getting hold of a secondhand Olympus OM1 SLR brought new discoveries and happy times. Eventually the transition to digital came together after a few false starts.  Blipfoto helps me to keep a record of day-to-day life, and visiting other journals is a wonderful source of new discoveries.
