My 62 years have been quite eventful. I retired in 2009 after 37 years in education. I've taught a lot of stuff to many people, young and old - but I've learned more.

I've been a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a lover, a friend .... but I only became a wife when I married John in 2011. I learned a lot more then. I learned that you must never throw away men's socks - even when they've got holes in them. I learned that, no matter how full or rich your life, everyone needs a John when the chips are down. I'm glad I didn't die before I learned about true love.

People would say I'm a feisty woman - or a bit 'gobby' - depending on which side of the fence they're on. I've argued for principles, rights and my place in the queue. I've raged against the National Curriculum, the price of prescriptions and religious hypocrisy. I've fought cancer twice and British Gas several times. I usually win, but I am never complacent.

I love words - but sometimes words are not enough. Sometimes you just need an image to help you along:)
