November 2020
I've now been blipping for around seven months and I don't tend to write much with my entries, so here's a brief update to my profile, which highlights how little has changed.
We're still in (a second) lockdown, that isn't as much of a lock down as the first one, but still massively disrupting. I'm still working from home, but now waiting until January to find out if I'll have to reapply for my job.
The one thing that has changed over the last seven months is that I am spending more time taking and processing photos, thanks both to blip and the encouragement of friends.
.............................
I've been using blipfoto for a few weeks now, and I intend to stay around for a while, so time for a few notes.
I'm a keen amateur photographer in the weekends and evenings, and my day job involves working with earth observation data from satellites and airborne sensors, so I'm often behind a computer screen processing one kind of image or another.
Pre-Covid-19 I spent a fair amount of time travelling for work, both with in the UK and Europe, and try to make sure that I have a camera with me. I joined blipfoto to improve my photography and to explore ideas that I would otherwise ignore. Home is near Consett in the north east of England, an area that is often ignored by tourists and photographers, but a lovely place to live and photograph.
I first heard about blipfoto through friends in the City of London & Cripplegate Photographic Society and try to stay connected to this group to stay inspired.
