I joined this photo journal site in May 2025 on the recommendation of a friend who's now completed 7 years, and because I've just embarked on my annual sojourn in the Northern Hemisphere.  

I live in Wānaka, New Zealand.  It's a town of about 12,000 in the southern part of the country, and close to the Southern Alps.  We attract thousands of local and international skiers every winter.  I'm not a skier, so the NZ winter is an excellent time for me to follow the sun up north of the Equator.

I value good conversation and everything about human interaction and connection, especially in a quieter and one-on-one situation.  

This seems an ideal way to interact with a whole new international community, especially from countries I may never get to.  I know I have lots to learn.  I'm loving it already after only about 20 days !!
