I live in northeastern Ohio (U.S.A.), a short walk from the southern shore of Lake Erie. Because I enjoy being outdoors in all seasons, trailwalking and photography are my favorite pastimes. Born and raised in York County in southeastern Pennsylvania, I was christened Carolyn by my parents, but nicknamed Skip when I met my husband Bob. Both the nickname and the relationship stuck, and Bob and I recently celebrated our 60th anniversary.

In 1959, I earned a BS in Education from Arcadia University (formerly Beaver College) in Glenside, PA, where I minored in music and dabbled in choir, piano and organ. Eventually I returned to the classroom and earned a Master’s degree from Cleveland State University, and for 33 years, I taught grades 3-8, specializing in teaching writing to middle school students.

After I retired, I became interested in photography and purchased my first digital camera. In 2008, while searching for  a place to store and display all the photos I was accumulating, I discovered Blipfoto.com, an online community of photographers. If you are looking for a place to store and share your photos, try Blipfoto. It’s truly a special place. When I can find the time, I also blog about things I see and people I meet along the trail. The blog, titled Seen Along the Trail, can be found here. If you have time to look it up, please be sure to leave a comment so I will know you stopped by.
