Hi

So glad you bothered to read this.

I have had a passion for photography as long as I can remember.  Although I pursued a different profession altogether photography has always been more than a hobby to me.

I used an Ilford Instamatic when I was very small and then borrowed my Grandfathers then very old (now nearly 100 years old Kodak) camera which I still own.  I then discovered the wonders of 35mm film and the darkroom.  Moody monochrome always being my first love and I am proud to be a licentiate member of the Royal Photographic Society.

Then for health and family reasons I had to give up my darkroom and all those smelly chemicals and went digital.  I love my large Nikon DSLR and all those lenses, tripods, flash guns and gizmos and photoshop too.

Then a year or so ago I had a stange epiphany.  I got an iPhone and an iPad and begun to read of the cliche about the camera in our pocket being the best camera  of all.   It is true that I don't need extra strong arms and three of them to carry it and equally true that the iPhone is always with me.   So I have begun to really experiment with iphoneography and found that it is simple and elemental like the cameras I first used as a child.  You have to really look and see because what you are using is a very simple but good point and shoot camera.  My rules to myself this year that anything I post on this site will be taken with an iPhone and edited in an iPad.  Wish me luck!

If you want to contact me, it would be good to hear from you and share some photos. My email address is: strobertophotography@gmail.com

P.S. 28/04/15. I had a significant birthday and the family gave me an even greater pocket miracle, the tiny but amazing Sony RX100 iii. I now might cheat a few times and use those photos and not iPhone ones. Ah well!! Rules, even self imposed ones were made to be broken!!

P.P.S. 28/09/15. Just changed the iPhone 5s to the iPhone 6s Plus. We shall soon see whether it is an improvement.
