My brother and I started playing with photography in high school, and destroyed the plumbing in our fathers house installing a darkroom. My first photography job was processing FAA accident investigation photos.  This persuaded me to seek a career in Microbiology (and Medicine) and to save photography for a hobby.
I am now 51 and live in the Shennandoah Valley of Virginia. I still have a lot of film camera equipment but due to difficulty getting images processed with any degree of quality I am now embarking into digital. My brother started journalling with blipfoto (see: scintilla)  and he has persuaded me to do the same. Our family hobbies are hiking/ biking and kayaking and most of my images will reflect our family outdoor experiences. Our small farm has a dry pond that sometimes is full of muddy dogs. The woods are full of dogwoods which are most beautiful in Spring.

2019: so I am a good bit older (62 as I type) much has happended and not happened in my life.

I still work and try to exercise. I no longer run but still kayak as you will see in my blips. The kids are grown and out of the house. I've had some health issues but nothing a little surgery and radiation can't cure (so I hope)...
I  try to maintain a little humour and laugh at least once a day. I now only blip when I'm inspired, I gave up on the daily mundane blip. My son has my old Nikon DSLR, I'm still using the Lumix with a burnt sensor. I should get a better camera but  am too cheap. I did buy an underwater housing with a point and shoot nikon at the flea market allowing me to take some diving pics.

I look forward to more blips and have a few good blip friends such as Kaybee.

Any blippers heading to Front Royal drop me a line and we'll find you a good IPA and some fine light fare for supper.
