Bad but not surprising news: - Can't go on forever

Given the Chinese government's legendary human rights abuses, it's not surprising that the oppressive government sanctioned police would squelch the protests before they spread. We all know what happened last time in Tiananmen Square. The will of the Chinese people is strong but not strong enough. Yet. I give it a year.

Good news: - Reopens for business

This is a classic example of how foreign news reporters can take a story and run away with it. During the Cairo uprising, several US news agencies reported that the Egyptian Museum lay in ruins, the artifacts looted and defaced. It's a relief to know that even though some damage occurred, it wasn't all lost.
