Chives and Tomatoes

Wonderful news from Christchurch today. No bodies were found under the rubble inside the cathedral where the tower collapsed. It was thought that there could be more that twenty people in there. The outside has yet to be searched.

The hot, dusty weather changed to cold and wet today. It will settle the liquefaction dust, but it will be cold for families who are sleeping in makeshift shelters.

FirehorseMia and I went to the Darfield Farmers' Market this morning and stocked up on meat, fruit and vegetables. However, the chives and tomatoes are from my own garden. The yellow cherry tomatoes are called Gold Nugget. They are always the first to ripen and often go on producing after the others have finished. Three small plants yield at least one handful a day, and often several handfuls. Their flavour is very rich.
